ST VIRGILS COLLEGE
NEW 11 AND 12 SENIOR SCHOOL
St Virgil’s College was established in 1961 on 12ha of open coastal grasslands at the periphery of an expanding Hobart, at Austins Ferry on the Derwent River. In 2018, the Archbishop approved the expansion to include Y11 and Y12. A master plan established the site parameters to accommodate the expansion. Prior to commencement, enabling works were undertaken to reorganise the campus, including an upgrade of the library building, relocation of music and new maintenance facilities.
The new Senior School provides new contemporary education spaces that are consolidated into the 1961 campus. The New Senior School is designed to optimise learning and provide seamless contemporary pedagogy.
