FAHAN SCHOOL

Fahan School, founded in 1948, is a progressive independent school for girls, Kinder to Y12. The school has a strong focus on innovative curriculum.

The ‘Main Building’ was constructed in a stripped ‘Beaux Arts’ style and is the face of Fahan and is nestled in beautiful, well-established gardens. This building had remained relatively unaltered and the internal spaces were a series of small compartments, and unsuitable for contemporary senior school pedagogy.

This required a major reworking of the internal spaces, to provide engaging functional and flexible learning and teaching spaces, together with a major addition at the upper level to provide support spaces for student and staff. This extension provides a new façade to the main courtyard and creates the ‘Parents and Friends’ Plaza.
