DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION

Summerdale Primary School is a well-established school in suburban Launceston. A Masterplan identified the works priorities in consultation with the school community. The project comprised a new administration building as a new front door to the school, a suite of new classrooms for grade 4-5, a new performing arts / multipurpose space together with extensive landscaping that incorporates a Stephanie Alexander kitchen garden and outdoor learning facility.

The project required demolition of ad hoc covered ways and removal of old temporary modular units to open up external spaces and provide active external play spaces linking the key learning areas.
