ANNA’S HOUSE

This project was a reworking of an existing clinker brick and mission brown 1970’s house that had a series of unfortunate extensions, but was in a beautiful spot. The design recognised the best qualities of the site, including a lovely relationship to Blackmans Bay Beach, the northern headland, and the Derwent River.

Our approach was to pull the kitchen out of the bowels of the house and open up the northern façade, resulting in a contemporary open plan living area with private landscaped terraces protected from sea breezes.
