Coop Toyota lead the way in the highly competitive car industry by recently completing a new suburban car sales and car service facility prominently situated within the Kingston Civic/Commercial precinct.
Project complexities for the consultant team included risk management of significant site excavation, project management of the construction program and the construction budget. The architectural challenge was to provide an appropriate design solution for a geographically complex greenfield site.
The new development is over 3000m2 of new build that utilizes precast concrete and post-tensioned slab. The design was an exercise in cost effective construction without compromising on quality, whilst including best practice sustainable design for a new commercial building. Together with designing in capacity for expansion, adaptability and incorporation of new technology for future change.
The design maximises car display whilst focusing on a quality client experience for both car sales and car servicing. The workshop incorporates a high level of building services and specialised equipment for a contemporary and efficient workplace for the highly skilled auto-technicians.
TPA+i provided a full architectural service for the Planning Approval, Building Approval and Construction Phases.
The project was successfully completed on time and within budget for Coop Toyota to commence trading in late 2014.
It is a successful postscript for Excellent Condition Throughout - Cooperative Motors 1913-2013.
